As you can see I haven't had ANY time to post lately and I think I have realized I just need to say goodbye...for sometime at least. Crazy I know...but little man Hank has taken so much time which is awesome. I just had my gallbladder removed and that wasn't any fun. We are getting ready for a trip to Ireland and I know it will rock...even if I am still slightly recouping!

Cubs oh my cubs...clinched the Central and that is sooo sweet!

Well the plane tickets are booked and I would say we got a great deal. It just so happens that we had enough frequent flier miles to get 2 round trip tickets to Ireland. So with the fees you have to pay to book the tickets our total costs us $114.00 for 2 round trips to IRE!!!

I can't wait...

Oh baby the Cubs just hit back to back jacks in the 7th...some cool cubs fan from Winnebago named Kevin won 7000$!!! I am listening to Ron and pat and it was hysterical because they announced the back to back simultaneously when Ramirez hit his home run after Lee. Pat is nonchalantly announcing that this guy has won 1000$ for the 2 HR in a row and then all of a sudden they realize that it is the 7th inning and Ron gets all excited and they announce No it's not 1000$...IT'S 7000$! Cubs are tied and we have a base runner on! Let's go Cubbies Rally!

Cubs finally got swept by the freakin Devil Rays! We are losing to the White Sox right now but hopefully we will have a late rally to pull out a win at Wrigley Field!

SOOOOO happy Stephanie won for Top Chef. Richard kinda chocked and Lisa actually did fairly well so I was kinda sweatin it at the finale because I would have to vomit is scowl faced Lisa won!

Went to the White Sox game this past week to watch them play against the Pirates. We were there because we have a friend who pitched relief for the Pirates. I realize I am a die hard Cubs fan but let me just say...

Beautiful field but ugly inside and out fans. I guess they are called the White Sox because their fans are White Trash. Nasty dirty crash fans! I will never go back to that park!

I was at the chiefs game and the sky started to look a little dark and since I had Hank with me I decided to leave a bit early so i didn't have to try to get him in the car in rain. I got home just as the rain started and then...THE RAIN STARTED. It was crazy because it was hail and rain and rain and rain.

What's been going on!

Been to 2 cubs games so far both winners! One freezing cold and one hot hot hot!
Sat in the bleachers for the CHI vs LAD and got Derrick Lowe to sign a ball for me and toss it up! That was pretty cool!

Went to the STL VS PIT game in STL and unfortunately the Pirates lost but it was a good game!

Might be going up to the MIL VS PIT on the 4th of July in Milwaukee. Side fun extra note...Summerfest same weekend!

Friday the 13th is coming up and the best part about it is...It's my Birthday!

Saw Iron man...i really liked it...it is soooo good to see Robert Downey Jr. back into living a clean life!

Hoping to see Dropkicks this summer in Chicago but haven't gotten the tickets yet!!!

I know I know I have been a bad blogger lately! Sorry there is just too much going on!

Quick Synopsis!

Went to Dropkick's last Monday in St. Louis! It freakin rocked! I got to dance on stage with Ken Casey for Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced! It was Sweet!

Tomorrow is ST. PAT'S and I can not wait ! Roxy is picking me up at 7:45 am! Side note---Kelleher's isn't opening up until 8 am this year! I hate getting a late start on St. Pat's! Oh well I will have to make up for it!

Cubs Opening Day is fast approaching!

My tiny little Baby is going to be 1 year old in a month and a half! How the Crap did that happen!

Hank competed in the baby crawl at the Women's BU halftime! Well he just kinda hung out on the floor and didn't move so competed is kinda a strong word for what he did!

Hopefully I can drop in some pics soon of the little man and hopefully I will have some awesome stories after tomorrow! He is a pic of me last year if you forgot!
Now you can see why I am so excited about this year! HINT: I am not the DD this year!

No big plans for Easter...hopefully my grandpa will be out of the hospital (double pneumonia and he's 90) and I will take him to church and then a little food!

If you see me laying face down tomorrow just step over me... I am more than likely catching a catnap to get through the rest of the day!

I got to hear Ron Santo and Pat Hughes on AM radio call the Cubs 1st Spring Training game with the Chicago Cubs. They did win 12-6 against the Giants. Oh I feel the winter going away....forget about the fact that we got snow last night. I haven't stumbled upon any opening day tickets yet but I am still very hopefully that the heavens will open up and drop 2 tickets in our laps...If anyone out there knows of any PLEASE let me know. Other than the $400 ones on eBay!

Guess What I get to do on Saturday...WATCH the Cubs play on TV!!! Oh it will be a good day...Yes it will...

The Good ...The Bad...and the Ugly

Well I can tell you I looked like a deflated balloon from the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. At about 10:45 opening day was sold out! Then I watched without any control as the 1st St. Louis game I wanted sells out. I finally get thru on the phone and am trying to navigate the virtual reality "Laura" to understand the tickets I want and as I am saying things over and over while "Laura" keeps saying..."I'm sorry I didn't get that could you repeat how many tickets you wanted" 2 more St. Louis games sell out. I finally get transferred to a real person and I think she had about 10 minutes of training before she answered the phone. I do get my 5th choice of game and it takes almost 20 minutes to finish my transaction. With blunder after blunder I can't believe I finally finish the purchase. Sandra the incompetent ticket sales women tries to charge me for Fed Ev at 19$ a pop to send my bleacher seat tickets to me. I explain that I have to pick bleacher seats up from will call so I don't need the shipping. Then she charges me for 3 tickets instead of 2. Finally she is going to hang up before she gives me my confirmation number which you have to have to pick up your tickets at will call. I finally ask for a supervisor to make sure my transaction went thru! After that I did get thru a couple of more times and I do get picked up on the Internet once. So my list of games is as follows:

5/26 Dodgers
8/3 Pirates
8/24 Nationals
9/1 Astros

All games are bleachers.

I'll post later about my disgust about tickets on eBay 10 minutes after they go on sale!!!
Also my ideas on trying to find reasonable priced tickets for opening day!

I sit here this morning with the excitement of a third grader going to Disneyland! Single Game tickets go on sale today for the Chicago Cubs 2008 season! So I have my list of games I want to try and get and of course the order to get them in. I have gotten myself into the virtual waiting room and have the phone number in the phone ready to go...The puck drops at 10am. Sorry about the hockey reference but you know what I mean. I will say it doesn't seem to me that the virtual waiting room is working right now which kinda freaks me out but I have always had way more luck on the phone then on the puter. So I hope in about 5 hours my hard work will have paid off and we will have about 5 games to go to this year!

Batter up Guys it's almost Baseball season!

This was a fund raiser for the Peoria jazz All-Stars and it was sooooo much fun! Our table was made up of a great group...We all had something to bring to the table. 10 rounds of 10 questions.
Different categories...Sports...Current Events...Politics...Women at the Oscars...Music...70's Elevator Hell!

Your table could converse and you wrote the answer on the answer sheet...best quote of the night was during the movie quote category and the quote came up. Toby told Tucker what it was and Tucker started to question him and Toby shouts out..."WRITE IT DOWN!"

Also thankfully we had some boys for the sports question and for the Geography ( Flags). Oh they were also good at the Acronyms too!
Tucker was our secretary writing down all of the answers on our final answer sheet. For the last category which was Women at the 2007 Oscars...it started by showing you a picture of the actress...listing 3 works she has been in and you had to name her...After the first one...Tucker just handed over the paper to me and I filled them all in...except Jenna Fischer from the Office...I couldn't recognize her but Matt pulled it out of his Ars!

Okay so here is my Isabel Bloom angel on the top of my foot. The picture is from the day I got it so it is really swollen and sore and red. The Angel is for my Aunt Neva ( MyGodmother) who has been my guardian angel since she passed. We had this sculpture with flowers put in the annex of my aunts church so all will remember her. This is my memorial so I know she is always with me!

***Went on a psuedo double date last week...Jeff & Doug and Roxy & I went to see Ring of Fire...The Johhny Cash Tribute...LOVED IT!!!

***Went to the Cubs Caravan last month!!! Met Ted Lilly and G. Soto. SOOOO CUTE!!!

***Already have the day off next Friday to sit at the computer with my phone surgically stuck to my head to try and get Cubs 2008 tickets.

***On that note...Opening day is March 31. Which is actually the opening of the baseball season...usually we play away for a week and then come home! Do they realize how cold it is going to be!!!!! I will suffer for the thrill of opening day!

***Went and saw No Country for Old Men with Tommy Lee Jones. Without sounding like an idiot I would lick to quote Tom Hanks from the movie Big ..."I don't get it". I mean I could follow the story and everything but I just didn't get the whole hoopla of it all. I usually go for the art/cinematastic/sundance/indie films but I wish I would of just wasted my time on a cute chick flick like 27 Dresses.

***Baby Hank is growing like a weed! He is standing by himself for a couple of seconds at a time and he can walk along stuff! Does anyone possibly see anouther ER trip in our future?!?!

***Did anyone catch the crazy NHL accident where Zelnick got punctured in his throat by another players skate?...Amazingly his carotid artiery was split but still hanging on by a thread and the surgeons were able to fix it! He is a very Lucky man!

***Going to play Trivia this weekend! Can't wait...I hope they actually have useless info questions instead of actual regualr normal person questions!

***Jim and I were playing the Crack machine the other night before the movie and we got over 100 minllon on trivia Whiz---Food and spirits category. When you get to put your name in for high score I always put GO CUBS.

***Got a new tattoo on Friday...I will put a photo when it heals and I have time (Hoefully before March 12)

Okay so I was watching the last Grey's Anatomy the other night and it consisted of Bailey's son injuring himself by pulling a bookshelf down after getting through a baby gate that wasn't locked. No those who know me can testify that I am a pretty laid back mom when it comes to germs and spit ups and others holding him. By all means I am not letting him eat lead paint or crawling on the highway but I just think it's okay to bonk your head and skin your knee. Lets just say that after the episode though...we spent all Sunday putting up a gate and moving bookshelves. I can rest a bit easier now and go to the bathroom without any thoughts of injury!

Also if anyone missed it DKM on David Lettermen on Friday. They played the State of Massachusetts which isn't my favorite song but Hey the DKM are like pizza even when it sux it's still pretty good!

Anyone catch Celebrity Rehab the other night? Seriously too funny! Poor Kenickie!!!

I would not say I have Pet Peeves...just things that irk me ...which now that I think about it is a Pet Peeve...
People have random different things that drive them crazy...Like Britt would prefer people to use plural s and the 's in the correct fashion. Angie would like others to not kill her while driving and possibly serve her and Rob food and drink without attitude.
Well I realize I am not the "America's Most Smartest Supermodel" by any means but I feel my common sense is on a fairly upper level and I'z ain 't no idiot.
On Real Housewives of the OC last night Laurie is planning her wedding to Multi Millionaire George. When the show first started she was struggling and had to *gasp* work and take care of her 3 kids all by herself. Well now she is getting Mercedes as gifts and going on crazy vacations and her life is totally different. Now for the Pet Peeve...Laurie keeps talking bout how her life has made a complete 360 degree switch. UM Laurie...that means you are right back where you were before...I think you are wanted to say 180 degree turn.

Also did anyone catch American Gladiators the other night? OH the cheese factor! I guess it worked in the 80's...but of course I'll still be watching it cause HELLO...Writer's are still on strike!

I watched 1 vs. 100 last Friday and they did a MEN VS WOMEN version. The women crapped out at 50,000$ because she thought 4 was a prime number instead of 11. then the 21 year old never had a girlfriend self professed loser came on and just won your heart and 1,000,000 $. He actually answered all the questions and knocked out the 100 women. I think he will not have as hard of a time finding a girlfriend now.

Cubs Caravan is going to be at the Riverplex in a couple weeks...I hope I get Ted Lilly for my autograph!!! Also I got VIP seating for the question and answers section!

Baby Hank made his 1st ER visit on Christmas day when he pulled a TV tray with a wooden nativity scene on it down on his mouth! At least the blood on his Baby's First Christmas bib matched the color of the bib!

Getting some new tattoos in FEB! I'll keep ya posted when I get them...

I just realized I think I overuse (1 word...2?) the ! at the end of my sentences...Although I can say I am generally excited when I am typing the sentence.

Attended a murder mystery night last night that the Peoria Jaycees put on and I had such a great time...BTW our team won cause we are smart like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I made it to AZ finally on Sunday evening... I had a great time eating and shopping!
Here's the run down...
Sunday night ate at Oregano's.
Monday
I met my friend Brandon and his son Gunnar for some lunch at In-N-Out then went shopping at AZ Mills. Got 2 new pair of Vans for me...and 3 pair of vans for Hank! I'll attached pics of them when I have time. Went to my cousins house for Chinese food that night. After went to friends house to watch the MNF game! Crazy last couple of minutes of that game!
Tuesday
Went to Last Chance and actually found a great pair of boots! Then had an awesome lunch at TeePee Tap Room. I then stopped back at AZ Mills to get a car decal made. It says..."Punk Rock Moms raise Kick Ass Kids". I then went to visit with some friends for the evening and on the way home ate deep fried tacos from Jack in the Box. Now there is a Jack down south a bit on the way to St. Louis but it is about a 2 hour drive there and then 2 back so I don't get to indulge much.
I then had top fly home at 7:40am to Peoria.

Baby hank flew great and I had a great time!

Well my best laid plans were wiped out today by the ICE! I was to leave PIA today to enjoy a quick but fun trip to AZ. I was planning on making a quick but long trip to LA for a day to see some friends too. I seriously had my trip planned down to the minute. AHHH but NO LUCK today!!! I did get to the airport and checked in on the new Allegiant flight to Phoenix. Let me just say I was able to book when the trip cost $89 for the flight there and $13 for the return. Great deal! Back to the Ice story... So Baby Hank and I are there and it doesn't look promising so as I am calling all of my friends to tell them I don't think I am going to make it to PHX as quickly as planned I notice of course my cell phone battery is running low. I quick call my mom and ask her to bring me a charger as I STOOPIDLY pack my in my checked luggage. My mom brings it out and long story short we find out the plane coming to PIA from PHX turned around and went back to PHX so at this point I know I have at least 4 hours until anything is even close to landing. Mom takes the baby and I to her house and an hour later after calling the airline I find out the plane has been delayed until Sunday at 2:40 pm. So off to my home I went. I will try again tomorrow! Some might be pissed or otherwise bitchy. I on the other hand decide to look at the glass half full. I figure 1st I am safe and alive with my child and 2nd I was delayed at home...no harm I get to sleep in my own bed and feed my child and be fresh and ready again tomorrow! The only bummer is my little side trip to LA was cut out but at least they have In-N-Out burgers in AZ now! So I will begin my journey again tomorrow!

Okay so I am wondering if I am starting to emulate my good ole friend over at Angie's Drama. She just recently ...well a little bit ago...had a little fall down some stairs which resulted in her jaw being wired shut. This event among many makes her the ultimate Drama Queen cause her Drama is for real Girl! Okay back to me...a couple nights ago I am walking down the stairs with the baby and slip down the last 4 stairs. Luckily on my back and the baby just hung out on my chest and no harm but a bit of a bruised butt (don't worry i won't be posting pictures) and some crazy rug burns on my arm. So then tonight I am in a crazy hurry and I am coming to out door to enter the house and I trip up our 2 concrete steps...again with the baby in his carrier luckily I just kinda heavily thumped him down. Now since the weather was so nice today I was waring long shorts and lets just saw I don't have much skin left on my front lower leg and knee. Oh this is going to be a beauty to heal! It is so reminiscent of a long ago war wound on my leg from a crazy bird attack! I might post about that at a later date...y'know when my child is grown and moved away and I actually have bouts of free time!

So here is to you Angie...I hope my couple days of injury sparred you...Maybe it's like that movie Just My Luck. I saw Angie on Thursday and we swapped our drama!

this is the time of year I love...er loathe...er oh I don't know...
A good chunk of those around me have been complaining about the moving up of the Christmas holiday and although I agree I feel like you either play into it or you don't. I like to enjoy each holiday and with it comes lots of great things...cold nights outside and warm nights inside...all the fun parties...Movies...Y get the idea! It of course starts the beginning of the crap I hate...oops sorry mom ...Things I dislike a really really really lot...The crazy shopping attempts...cleaning off my car and warming it up...the sickness.

Is their really anything better than cuddling up inside and trying to warm your ice cold feet on your husbands body? I keep letting him know that it was in our vows to keep each other warm so he has to let me use his body for a heating pad!

I think my dance card is already full with Jaycees Christmas parties and the Christmas projects...Potter and Anderson's open house (Actually last night) the chiefs are having a holiday party for season ticket holders...the list goes on!

stated in a previous post I love the amount of Xmas movies that come out...if it's the 15th time It's a Wonderful life or Miracle on 34th street is on TV I will usually leave it on...plus all the myriad of Lifetime scroogesque movies...It's pretty good.

Let me go off kilter here for a sec as I just realized something...I think it is just loads of fun to make fun of all the Xmas episode that TV shows do...BUT with the writers strike I wonder if we will have any?!?!?!?

Well the long awaited DKM concert fell thru...The free tickets we got in the mail were a 2 drink minimum and the 2 drink minimum was $20...so hubby decieded the 4 hour drive up and the 4 hour drive back= crazy amount of gas $ plus the $40 to get in...and the fact that they wouldn't get home until after 3 in the morning and step son would have to go to school and hubby to work computd to NO GO!!!
Sadly I wouldn't get to vicariously live thru there concert BUT...They went and saw a movie and got some shopping done and when I got off work we all went and saw a movie...Still a fun day with the family!

Movies:
30 Days of Nights- Some sort of Vampire movie...both said it was good but they are guys so take it at that!

Fred Claus - This has gotten horrible reveiws but that never changes if we see something or not becase usually we don't agree with the critics ...again this time we liked it. It's a very enjoyable christmas flick. Vince Vaughn is his usual self and the movie is enjoyable.

I can not wait for AugustRush to come out. It looks like such a great movie!!!

Halloween***

It was a great night...Hank looked like a little version of his Daddy...

I took the day off of course and got everything ready for Halloween...Gave out candy and lots of loot...My husband says I give out to much but I always tell him it's actually a payoff so the neighborhood kids don't egg or F&*^ with the house! I give out little debbie snacks and bags of chips and large size movie style candy and handfuls of the actually small Halloween candy. I then took the baby to my mom's house and worked late shift at the Jaycees Haunted House...

I have been watching tons of reruns of A&E's Intervention...I am totally addicted to that show...New episodes come out in December.

I love this new show called Reaper...it's hilarious...about a 21 yr old whose parents sold his soul to the devil and now he has to work for the devil by capturing escaped souls from hell. I know it doesn't sound like ti but it is hilarious!

So disappointed in Private Practice...a big razberry!

Amazing Race 12 is on ...it took over for Viva Laughlin which of course only made it on for 2 episodes...but of course I watched it because Hugh Jackman was on it!

Funniest line on Amazing Race... Kynt and Vyxsin are a goth couple who are on the race and they were getting on a boat ferry in Ireland and Vyxsin says "2 Ferries getting on a Ferry"

I am still dealing with no DKM show in Chicago. They are playing in Milwaukee on Monday. Jim and Shawn are going to drive up to WI for the show...I get to stay home with the baby. We got free tickets so that is freaking cool! Also The Tossers are opening up for them...Chicago Irish band!

So Hank and I are off to FL to go to my cousin's wedding. We are staying at a resort that has dress code for the lobby...WTF!!! Oh well they say you can get from your room to the beach without going through the lobby...The crappy part is our flight leaves at 6am so i have to be dressed up to fly so I can check into the hotel! I guess we will have to leave our redneck ways behind...y'know I love haulin' Hank around in public in just a diaper.

Whatever so the Cubs didn't even show up to play the playoffs! Zambrano was the only thing actually playing baseball that night and Lou takes him out so he will be fresh to pitch a game that SURPRISE they never got to play...It was like an omen...I could see it happening.
Now I usually pull for the team who beat us ...that way if they win the World Series I can say "OH well... at least we got beat by the champs"...well in this case because I think D-Back fans are well...arrogant...I am pulling for the Rockies! So far they are up 1 game and WHAT is with the fact that Arizona couldn't sell out for a division title game. It's mind blowing! @ hours before game time they still had blocks of 25 you could buy together!

So as it goes the Bears broke our hearts on Sept 30th (while the Packers are still
undefeated) and then the Cubs went down the spiral and as a Chicago fan I was feeling pretty down and then last Sunday we gear up to watch the Bears play the Packers for Sunday night football and amazingly enough...The freakin Bears pull off the upset and beat the Packers...So now all is forgotten and as a sports fan I can sit back and get back to being a Chicago fan again.
Y'See all we need is for the Cubs to beat the Cardinals and the Bears beat the Packers.
Life is going to be okay!

Okay so I will quickly touch on the fact that the Cubs took thew division...It got a bit close but the Brewers helped us out...I wish I could give a great story about being at a great bar watching with friends and the final out ...we all cheer. But I don't.

I was actually helping my friend set up her reception for her wedding on Saturday. So Friday night consisted of Rehearsal...Rehearsal Dinner at Peoria Pizza Works. Now we did have the game on and we won...but we didn't know the outcome yet of the Brewers game. We then went to the Reception hall and had a great time decorating and getting everything ready! (I will come back to post about the wedding cause it was awesome). Back to the Cubs...So another friend and I were cruising in the car to pick something up for the reception and she got a call from a friend who told her the padres won. I know kinda boring but Oh well...The wedding Way out trumped the Cubs for the weekend. I know all think I put the CUBS into one of the top sections of my priorities list but This Wedding took tops...Sorry CUBS!

Well some of you might know that Cub playoff tickets go on sale this Sunday...
Some of you might also know about my normal routine of getting regular season tickets for the Cubs...

*** Friday in February...I take the day off of work...sit in front of my computer waiting for virtual waiting room to choose me...and dial non stop on the phone to obtain as many games as the day will allow. My husband and I will make a game plan on which games to ask for 1st... depending on opponent and giveaways...I then make it my task to not quit until I have dialed the last time before the box office closes...We are talking 8 hours here!

So some might assume that I would be sitting aimed and ready to attempt to get play off tickets...but alas NO!

I feel that if I were to obtain playoff tickets before we actually win the division...we will not win the division. So if ...I mean WHEN we win the division...I will then make it my mission to find playoff tickets...O yes I will!

So to all you Cub fans out there...this is my gift to you!

I can imagine other Cub fans were freakin like I was as they totally pulled it out in the 9th against the Reds! Thanx to Michael "Stormy" Weather...Closer for the Reds. 1st a walk then Lee pops one into the outfield...Ramirez brings em home...it's tied. Finally DeRosa hits an INfield single and they botch it** and we win!!!! DeRosa is the man...5 for 5. Seriously Mark is an amazing ball player and I am sooo glad we got him from Atlanta!

** The Reds brought in an outfielder to help with Defense and they freakin can't get the job done!!!

Oh yeah we also had back to back jacks!!!

Just to give it up (Which I can't believe I am doing) to the Cardinals...They were down 11-0 in the 6th against the Phillies and they actually clawed their way back to lose the game 13-12. Wow that is pretty amazing!

Haven't been myself lately but Jim and Shawn went to Hinder, Buckcherry n Papa Roach. They are also going to ZZ Top this weekend.

SIX FLAGS****

Big plans to go to Six Flags on Monday. I LOVE Rollercoasters!!!! Plus Jim calls me the Amusement Park NAZI. Mainly because I control all of our actions at the park. Where when and how we navigate the park is solely up to me! Jim can have a map of his own but we do not use it!
Guess What? Six Flags is only open on weekends now!!!
So Roxy and I might try going next Sunday...OH Well!

So Hank and I went to St. Louis this past weekend. The Cardinals were playing the Atlanta Braves. We were invited along with my parents to come to the game from a family friend who plays for Atlanta. He is originally from Hawaii and his dad and my dad were best friends showing up so he feels like he gets to see family when my dad can make it to the game. Sorry for the long explanation but I wanted to explain that we were only watching the cardinals game because:
1~ We were invited by the BRAVES
2~ The tickets were free
3~ Rooting for the Braves to win could only help the Cubs!

Unfortunately the Cardinals won...BOO HOO!

BTW ---The Cubs are still in 1st...I know it's not September yet!
Okay so we go to the game and we have amazing seats! The new Busch Stadium is gorgeous!!! It has soft cushy seats ...tons of amenities...it really is a great stadium.

BUT...and this is a big BUT...

The fans of the St. Louis Cardinals have no energy when they are cheering on their team.

Now they are the reigning World Champion's and no one can seem to muster enough energy to stand up and cheer let alone even have enough energy to put 2 hands together to clap.
I realize it could be because they are too busy eating their funnel cake or balancing they fruffy drink and I understand with the cushy seats you might not want to get your over indulged ass out of it to show a little support for your team. Here is a team who at 1 point was 8 plus games out and then clawed their way up to close to 1st and you can't even help them win with a bit of crowd energy.
Let's just say in some far off fantasy world the Cubs win the world series...It could happen...I would feel as if I shared in the trophy because my energy and loyalty helped them win.
The St. Louis Cardinals organization own the 2006 World Series trophy. I don't feel they need to give any props or share it with their fans because they don't deserve it!

I am soooo happy I married a Cubs fan and not a Cardinals fan!

Okay so let me add to the movies...
We went and saw Superbad the other night...
It was pretty funny and very crude...I wouldn't even tell my parents to go see it...
Like Knocked Up...it definitely goes for the sick humor but this one goes really dirty...
Y'know how they will release R movies on DVD with an unrated version...I would be scarred to know what this movie would do to be UnRated. I shudder to think! Still if you are not weak of heart I highly recommend it! I find it funny to think that People magazine gave this movie 4 stars. I can just imagine the highly prude soccer mother of 4 who drives a macked out mini-van having the nanny watch the kids so her and her husband dressed in dockers and a salmon colored polo fresh from the golf course can have a date night at TGI Fridays and the movies. They might go blind from this movie! Oh I would love to see that.

I can see the actor who plays Fogel...aka "MCLOVIN" becoming the geek success and having his won show soon! He pretty much steals the show.

Oh also for all you teenagers out there...Please don't ever use laundry soap containers to steal beer...That can not be healthy! Suds and all!

Hairspray...What fun and with a cameo from John Waters and Rikki Lake! Although John Travolta was just a bit off!

Now I Pronounce you Chuck and Larry... I really enjoyed it...so not PC but I found myself laughing...Rob Schneider steals the show and a fun little cameo at the end is pretty hysterical!

okay so I realize for like 17 hours we were in 1st place...I didn't think we would stay in it for very long but Hey as a cubs fan you take what ever you can get.
I will say it is was very strange to cheer for the Cardinals to win when they were playing the Brewers! I know some think that is being a fair weather fan but i actually think you would be a stupid fan if you didn't look at each game and figure out what is going to help your team and go for it!
BTW...I am soo happy to see Matt Murton back he is one of my favorite players and I am so glad he was brought back up! Plus he won the winning run the other day! Go RED!

New Drinking Game!

Okay so I realize not everyone is watching Big Brother 8 obsessively like I do but I think there is a whole group of Frat boys out there who, I am sure, have found a new drinking game.
I think everyone has partaken of the Police Roxanne drinking game...Y'know you either have to drink when they sing "Roxanne" or "Put on the Red Light" also there is the Blue Velvet drinking game when you have to take a drink every time F*CK was said in the movie. I don't know if anyone ever made it thru the whole movie before passing out.
So anywho...On Big Brother 8 there is a player named Amber and she is an emotional roller coaster. Now unlike inside the house when the guys drink whenever Jen says the word "I" it is possible the new drinking game is to chug-a-lug whenever Amber cries. It is seriously the whole time she is on TV. She's upset because she was put on the block...cause her friend won HOH...cause the water ran out...cause it's sunny in California...it is ridiculous the girl should get a contract with Kleenex!

They aren't doing too bad! They are 1 game over .500.
They took 5 of their last 6 series.
they are 4.5 games behind the Brewers and 4.0 games behind for the wild card.
Series against Houston should be interesting. Let us see if they will continue to build after the All star game break or if this is where the bridge takes a tumble.
Being a Cubs fan thru and thru...I am thinking positive and gunning for a winning streak.

So we stopped at a Mobil station on our way home from the Social D concert in Urbana. The clerk was a twin separated at birth from Milton Waddams who was a character in Office Space. (Y'know the stapler guy...) Seriously I thought we might be on a hidden camera show.

So I am not going to the Vans Warped tour this year. Besides the baby factor I actually was a bit disappointed about the line up for Chicago. The only band I really want to see is Big D and the Kids Table. I would love to see them but I am not paying for a whole concert palooza to see a bind do a 40 minute set in scorching hot sun. So we went to the Chiefs game the other night. Went to our regular seats and sat down and crazy enough I ran into a friend from High school who lives in Florida now. Great catching up with her and I got to see her twins and she got to meet Hank!

just a quick post about Social Distortion!
The concert was at the canopy club in Urbana. It is an okay place to see a show but it's Mike Ness...I would see him play in a sewage!
Openers were not great so I won't even bore you with that except for the lead singer of the 1st opener actually said "Hey Chicago!" Silence...
Social D put on a great show always a different song list which I admire...you never know what they are going to sing. Mike came out and he seemed REALLY warmed up if ya know what I mean...If you don't then you are to young to read my post. He was pretty funny with the crowd...he even called us a handsome looking group!
After the show we stopped at a gas station to pee and get refreshments and let me tell you the clerk was hysterical. I will post about that incident all by itself but it was an experience!

Okay so the Cubs Swept the Chicago White Sox! These are the world series moments for Cub fans...I wish and hope for the World Series to show up and of course win...but until then I will take these moments and relish them...relish as enjoy...not relish as the lime green stuff on a Chicago hot dog! These games were great as we finally took the win on some 1 run games. Our bull pen game in and did a great job. And as always the Cubs are great a making the Sportcenter highlight reel with the what the heck is going on play with DeRosa's out field hit and interference with Pagan to Pie holding at 3rd to double play to no outs with bases loaded and Ozzy complaining and getting thrown out...If that didn't make sense then you know how we all felt watching the game. Needless to say we went 5-1 for the season against the White Sox!

Also went and saw Waitress with Keri Russell and it was really good. Not good if you are on a diet though because I wanted to taste every pie she made!

Oh What a Night!

Okay so we went to the Chiefs game on Saturday night. It was Legend at the Ballpark night. The Amazing Ron Santo was there. We went to the actual IPMR event and got to see him up close and here him talk. Also we were able to get his autograph and photo of him. Truly the most amazing ball player NOT in the hall of fame right now! It was a very hot night and we had hank but he did really great in the heat. The event in Pepsi Park was really nice but it is amazing how many tables hosted by corporations were empty. I know it is a tax write off for them but seriously if no one is going to use your seats you should hand them out to people who would love to be there. I know 5+ people who would of loved to have had the opportunity to meet Ron but didn't or couldn't spend the money. Really not a bad deal though. Food and Beer and wine all included for the money. It would of been even better if the place was called Coca-Cola Park but whatever! Seriously there is a difference and which ever you like better more power to ya but I am a die hard Diet Coke drinker! We registered for it as a wedding gift for goodness sakes!

Okay so sorry for the absentee but I got a little something extra taking up some time!
I have had tons going on so lets see if I can give you all some short recaps on "WHATS HAPPENIN!"
These are not in chronological order as my brain can't function that way!

CUBS VS. BRAVES
I took Hank and along with my parents went to to Chicago for the Cubs series against Atlanta.
Chicago was hosting a huge oncology convention so 3 weeks prior the only hotel we could get was out by O'Hare. This was not going to work. Thank goodness for the LUCK gene in our family because we got hooked up at the Westin on Michigan for quite a reasonable price!

Okay so I should back up...
My dad's best friend from high school lives in Hawaii and his son is a pitcher for Atlanta so he invited us to come see the games in Chicago and the team always stays at the Westin. So he called and told them he had family coming into town with him and he got us the room! SWEET!
Okay so we get up there and we can't check in yet because it's like 10 am so I have to feed, change and get Hank ready for the game in the lobby of the hotel! HEHEHEHE

Off to he game ...we had sweet tickets 1 section behind home plate. I just strapped Hank on me with the baby bjorn thing and he was awesome! Sleep for almost the whole game. Feed him once and changed him once but what a champ!
So this Friday game was the 1 with Zambrano and Barrett getting into fisticuffs in the dugout!
Cubs Lose!

That night I stayed in the hotel with the baby and went to bed early I was POOPED!
Mom and dad with with Tyler and his wife to this place called Rockit. I guess it's the it place to go in Chi town right now. Well they saw Rex Grossman sitting at the bar!

Saturday we went tot he game again and this game was the Pinella throw and and the fans in the Bleachers throwing trash on the Field!
ARG!!! This really pissed me off! The mentality of these "Fans" just boils my blood!
You just threw trash on WRIGLEY FIELD!!! Seriously! I digress sorry!
Cubs Lose!

That night Jim came up to meet us and we all went to eat at Ed Debevics and our guest really thought it was fun! Afterwards my mom and dad watched the baby and Jim and I went to the hotel bar had a drink and watched the final game of the Cav's and Pistons semi final!

Sunday game just Jim and I went and Mom and Dad watched the baby. This game started off Sweet! Grand Slam by Mark DeRosa. Gotta love it! We won FINALLY!!!

Mom and Dad went home after the game but Jim and I stayed up over night and hung out until Monday. Good times and Hank's first trip to Chicago and Wrigley field!

PSST If anyone points out the fact that the Cubs lost both games my son went to and then won the one he didn't I will find you and paint you Cubs colors. Believe me awe are in therapy about this but it will be alright!

BIRTHDAY!!!

Okay so I had my 36th birthday on June 13th!
Just had a great fiesta BBQ with some great food and Muchos Marvellous Mango Margarita's
That is what Steve from Beverly Hills 90210 always called his! Right Angie?!
Great times were had by all!

FALL OUT BOY!

Okay so we made it to the concert at The Mark in Moline. My friend Linda and my mom tag teamed sitting for the baby!
We made it up and thankfully missed Paul Wahl .
We also missed Cobra Starship but we had to eat our dinner there so we enjoyed a $4 piece of pizza and a $3 pretzel.
We did see The Academy Is... Very energetic and enjoyable to watch sound was kinda crappy though.
Next up was +44. Travis Barker on the drums! It was great but again the sound not so good.
Fall out Boy made it on and they always put on a thoroughly energetic show but low and behold sound was in the toilet. So we don't know if the sound at The Mark has gone to the shits or the set up for the tour was bad. Anyway it was a good show... Cracked us up though cause they did a cover of Michael Jackson's Thriller and it was funny seeing who knew the song and who didn't.

Hank and I been to some Chiefs games too!

Does anyone remember that line from a children's show I think it was Fraggle Rock but my mind is slightly more mushy than it used to be. Anyway it goes with that fact that I don't have much to post because I haven't done much lately. Hank and I did go to my nephews soccer game last Saturday. He only wanted to play like 30 seconds but we were there. So actually Hank has been exposed to some of the sights in Peoria already and he actually did great on his first road trip.
Stores he has been to:

So I have caught a couple of Cubs games on TV and had to listen to a few on the Internet because they weren't playing on TV in Peoria. I realized we are the split city between the Cardinals and the Cubs but there is no reason when you live in IL you shouldn't be able to get to watch a game on TV. Although I do love to listen to Ron Santos on WGN radio or 1290 here in Peoria.
My mom came over and watched the baby last night for a couple of hours so Jim and I could get to Kohls and pick up some items during the big sale. I wonder sometimes how little something costs to make because Kohls practically gives this stuff away.
We did make a trip to the Red Cross to have our car seats checked and thankfully we did...Monica was awesome and straightened us all out so Baby Hank is riding smooth!
Looks like my life isn't as exciting as it used to be but it is a change I WILL EMBRACE.
I did miss the Social D concert at POPs on May 5th but I am making it to the Fall Out Boy concert on Tuesday at the Mark. Good Times!

Well I went in Sunday and Baby Hank finally got here on Monday at 5:21 by C-Section. He didn't care for labor to much as his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck! So because of the surgery I had to stay in the hospital until Thursday. We are home now and everything is going great! Shawn is being a GREAT big brother and hank is actually sleeping good and is on a good schedule! I'll add pics later...but I should tell you he has a birthmark on his left wrist. Some have already commented on the fact that Jim and I would of course have a child with a tattoo already!

Arightty Then!!! It is April 26th and my official due date is tomorrow Friday April 27th. So far nothing...NADA...not so much as a sympathy pain. So last weekend I worked the Peoria Jaycees International Beerfest. I sold beer tickets from 3- 8pm. I had some fun t-shirts I wanted to make and wear but I thought since I was representing the Jaycees I should partially behave myself.

I worked all this week and endured phone call after phone call wondering if the baby is here yet? figured out it was more fun to call all my friends at weird times and when they answer with a catch in their breath say "Sorry no baby yet!"

We did get the nursery done and maybe I will have time to post some of the pics.

I went to my nieces birthday party at the Tea room and she let me know that Baby Hank was the only boy she would let stay at her princess party!

So tonight I decided to go out for 1 last night. A little Karaoke at the Firehouse should kick this baby into gear. Plus how fun will it be to go into labor at a bar. Show up at the emergency room smelling of cigarettes and booze, No wedding ring on (too swollen to wear it) with a "husband" who has a different last name! Oh yeah that will be fun!
Do you know why Methodist calls it "The Wonder Center"?
All the women are wondering who the daddy is!

I digress... so if that doesn't send baby hank into this world I have planned to:
*Volunteer Friday night for the late shift answering phones at the WTVP Auction...Remember Bid High Bid Often!
* See the Cornstock lab production of High School Musical on Saturday morning
* Do some Prom hair in the afternoon
* Volunteer yet again for the late shift at the auction on Saturday night.
***Oh and I better be watching the Cubs kill some Cardinals this weekend!

I am trying to set something up for them but of course have zero background in this sort of work. Does anyone out there have any contacts at any bars or venues for a smaller concert venue? They are open on May 7th before they head to Chicago to play there. ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

Okay so the Cards beat us at Home...that sux! Thankfully it wasn't a ass beater! Anyway it was one of the weirdest games with the Pujols Derosa out at 1st...then the crazy WWE Henry Blanco beating at the base for a triple play but later changes to an out...to the crazy ball stolen base out over running of 2nd base! Seriously do we feel like the waveland addison clark is the Bermuda Triangle? Just a thought! Let's hope today is a better game...I am very hopeful as we actually show signs of an actually 5 man pitching team if Zambrano could get his act together. Now we need to get some runs.
I won't be able to watch the game as I get to go to my nieces tea party birthday party and then I have to work for a bit and then I will be at The Peoria Jaycees International BeerFest at Expo Gardens. I will be the way pregnant person selling beer tix!

Opening Day!

Okay so it's Monday April 9th and the Cubs are having their home opener today at 1:20. It's weird in a couple ways this year! 1) I won't be at Wrigley...Since I am about ready to pop I unfortunately can not be there. But don't worry I took the day off work and I am going to bundle up and open my windows and watch it on TV! 2) It's on a Monday which is just weird. They usually open on a Friday but Monday it is.

Cubs VS Astros...Well the good thing is Houston plays in a dome and hopefully will wilt under the icebox like conditions at Wrigley...
On a side note...The Chicago White Sox cancelled a game because of the...COLD? Seriously could they be more wimpy. Just because you are on the South side it doesn't mean it is going to be warmer!

Also in our help for a win on opening day? The Astro have been SUCKY!!! Which unfortunately as a Cubs fan means they will beat us!
We do have Ted Lilly on the mound which hopefully will be a good thing...his last outing was astounding so lets keep the good times rolling!

Right now we are tied for 3rd with Milwaukee 3-3.

Today is now just 4 weeks until this thing that has been inside of me for 8 months makes a decision to come out! Okay so I have baby on the brain or bladder to be more truthful!

So all of you will have to bear with me while I blab about that for a jiffy!

He has turned head down so we aren't worrying about breach anymore. Also he has dropped so I really wasn't kidding about the bladder thing! If any of you have been around since the beginning of my blog existence then you might have read up on my problem with peeing! (Well holding my pee would be more exact!) So this 5 lb ish thing heavily weighing on my bladder is really getting to be a constant reminder that I have NO bladder control!

Okay so following is some fun things we have for Baby Hank!

Plus we have had fun decorating too! We tried to go with a decor that we wouldn't have to change for awhile!

This is our wall color with the border. When it's done it will have a vintage garage service station look...think American Graffiti movie or ole Route 66 Service Station!

This is all the crazy stuff we have collected so far and right now is piled in our breakfast nook. (UGH I just realized how un Rock n Roll me saying Breakfast nook is!!!)

Also these are all the baby blankets we have received as gifts! Man our friends and family ROCK!!!

7:45 am Okay so the day started at Kellehers for breakfast!
Yummy ! Had a virgin Bloody Mary! Roxy enjoyed the regular version!

Brother and family came down and Shawn made it down before he had to be at work!

11:00am Made our way to the corner of Main and Jefferson for the parade. Great times!

1:00pm Went to Tavern on the Water to eat my husbands Corned Beef....Way tooooo awesome!

3:00pm Back to Kellehers but it was WAAAAYYYY to crowded for this pregnant lady so we opted for Rhodells! Much better choice. Nothing like enjoying St. Patty's day at a bar owned by a Scottish lad!

5:30pm Went to Rizzi's on State for Corned Beef again with some friends!

7:30pm Off to Lucky's Bar and Grill to see friends brothers band play.

11:30pm Jim getting off work and met him at Tavern along with Brother and Sister in law and friends and stepson Shawn!

12:45am Drove drunk friends home!

Rockin Dropkicks!

Alright so last weekend was my last hooray before the baby gets here! Off to Chicago for the Dropkick Murphy's show at the house of Blues! Okay so It was to be ME (Of Course) and Shawn (Stepson 17 yrs old) and my cousins son Nels (15 yrs old). Since they put an extra show on later that night they actually made ours earlier and it started at 6:30. So being the positive roll model of a parent that I am I took the kids out of school early so we could get there on time! I know I am going to win Mother of the Year!
So off we go and when we get to Metamora my cars starts acting up! So we drive back to Peoria to trade cars with my mom and an hour late we get going again. We are staying at the W hotel on LSD. Pretty nice place. But off to House of Blues. We get inside while the first band was playing.
Okay so the line up was to be Aggrolites, Sick of it All and then Dropkicks!
Well Lead singer for Sick of it All was out because of back problems so The Briggs started off the show and the Aggrolites went on second. Nothing really fun to report on the opening bands.
So I found a safe spot on the stairs with the banister protecting half of me and I could actually see over the pit. So told the guys to meet me downstairs after the concert.
Finally dropkicks came on and as planned they did not disappoint!
Highlights:
**Sang Forever &Good Rats! They usually don't play these songs!
** Commended us for being true fans who bought there tickets months ago before the movie Departed!
**Shawn got up on stage for the last song...Skinheads on the MTBA. Got to sing with Ken Casey!

Lowlights:
**Being Pregnant at the show didn't allow me to get on stage for Spicy McHagggis Jig or Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced!

BIGGEST HIGHLIGHT!!!!
they never play my favorite song "Dirty Glass" because they have a guest singer named Stephanie Dougherty. Surprise she was there and they sang it!!! KICK ASS!!!

So we survived the trip and all is well!

Okay so it is such a long story I will try to give you the readers digest condensed version but at work one day I am doing a clients hair and when she is under the dryer she notices on the cover of one of our magazines a pictured of Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy. She tells me how she is at her aunts house and she was looking thru her xmas picture cards and mentions how the guy in this one picture has hair like the lead singer of Fall Out Boy. (She meant the lyricists and guitar player but she was close.) So her aunt says " No that is just one of the boys of a couple we knew when we lived in Chicago...Little Petey Wentz." My client didn't know his name then but recognizes it when she sees his pic. So she goes to her Aunts house and get s the picture and tells her Yes it is him. Okay so I do her Aunts hair too so I tell her she must bring the pic in so I can see it. She also brings in the card too which actually states that Pete is very successful with his band touring the country...BLAH BLAH BLAH. She has no idea that the little boy her daughter used to play with is now a member of the IT band of the moment! So I actually got a copy of the picture card but I wasn't able to get the other card but for fun here it is!

Okay in a previous post I put up an image of my friend getting to meet Howie from Big Brother. He was seeing the movie Rocky at Rave theaters. Well the other day she comes in and gives me an envelope and inside is a signed head shot of Howie that he autographed for me. Hopefully when I have time I will scan it in so you all can enjoy! HEHE!! The funny little part is the fact that the headshot is an actually computer copy not a real life headshot. Poor Howie he can't even afford real Headshots...or possibly only could afford them once and now he just copies them off himself!

Okay so we went out to LA.

Day 1
Went shopping in Santa Monica and visited EXILE cycles. They were amazing people who work there. We also saw Russell in working on his computer. (If you are a fan of build or Bust y'know what I am talking about.) We saw some great motorcycles and bought some t-shirts and stuff. Then we drove to my cousins and of course got stuck in traffic but it was worth the wait cause we ate at Lucille's BBQ. Let me just tell you...I kept thinking seriously what kinda BBQ is this going to be in CA! OMG is was awesome! I now know why they have a 2 hour wait to get a table!

Day 2
Went to Ontario Mills and spent some coin at Virgin Record Stores! and we of course at lunch at In and Out burger. Jim ate 2 Double Doubles! We also learned about getting our fries done animal style!
Animal Style = Fresh French Fries + Melted Cheese+ grilled onions+ thousand Island dressing!

The rest of the day we spent at The Pomona Fairgrounds for the 58th Grand National Roadster Car show. It was amazing!

Day 3
Went to our friends house in Woodland Hills. Enjoyed dinner that evening at Joe's a great restaurant in Santa Monica.

Day 4
OUR ANNIVERSARY!
Got up really freaken' early to go get in line for The Price is Right! When we got there we were astounded to see people had been camping out since 7 the night before! Seriously!!!
So we did not get into the theater at all. They gave out 600 tickets and then even 300 people in front of us didn't get in! It was crazy!!!! I am all for waiting in line for an awesome concert but for The Price is Right?! What to do...went and had breakfast and decided to go to Universal Studios! Had a great time... We saw them taping desperate Housewives and also saw the actor Justin Long(Dodgeball...Waiting...Accepted...iMac Commercials) He was on his way into a sound stage taping Live free or Die Hard...The new Die Hard movie!
So then we had an amazing dinner at Border Grille in Santa Monica for our anniversary.

Day 5
Got up and made our way to the airport...Let me just tell you that LAX has no idea how to run security smoothly! It was a bumblefck. But we did see Scoot Weiland the ex lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots / Velvet Revolver also trying to get thru security!

Okay so Jim and I have finally planned our LAST getaway before Hank shows up and reeks havoc on the life I have lived for... Well... My whole life! We decided to go to LA. It is always a favorite spot since we have hoards of family and friends to stay with and we know our way around. Also it definitely feeds my love of celebrities and music and such mindless stuff! I Love it! Now the only downfall is the fact that I am unable to attend Disneyland while in LA. It's not that I have been banned from the most wonderful place on earth.

*** (I don't know that I have posted much on this subject but I am insanely addicted to Disneyland. The original in Orange County...Set in the middle of a busy city. I have never been and am not quite sure I want to go to Disneyworld as I am just a little old school in the fact as I have amazing childhood memories of going to Disneyland as vacation. When you grow up in LA you usually can't afford an actual vacation so you either go to the beach or Disneyland. Well you can add in Knott's berry farm and Universal studios too! So I LOVE to go to Disneyland. Jim calls me the amusement park NAZI as I won't allow him to navigate the park at all! I must go on every ride...even the little kid ones and we have to go early to make sure we are in as soon as the park opens and we can not leave until we have gone on every ride and had our picture taken with every character we can find. Oh and I will only go thru the week when it is off season as I don't like to SHARE the park with too many other attendees!) ***

Sorry for the interlude but I felt I must explain my fascination! So as I stated we are unable to go to Disneyland because I am pregnant and I am unable to go on most of the rides. It would be torture to actually go to Disneyland and not be able to go on any rides! So we are going to see friends and eat some good food...go shopping and celebrity sightseeing at the Groves shopping center.

Well as it turns out they are taping The Price is Right on the Monday we are going to be in town so I scored some tixs so we can go! Y'know its BOB's last year and if you really want to know about my Price is Right legacy then you need to go way back to my first blog! So I am really excited about going to the show! I so need to come up with a great t-shirt to wear!

Okay so let me quickly blog about a celebreality sighting in Peoria...1 of my friends was a the movies (The new Rocky movie) and as they were waiting for the movie to start a guy comes in and low and behold it's Howie from Big Brother 6 and All-Stars. She talked to him for awhile and he said he was going to be a Club Reign the next night but Jim said when he was at work at 4play no one knew anything about it! That is all!

Holiday Ass Kickin'

Okay so the Holiday time is kicking my tired butt! With my job being in the hair Biz...I tend to get a bit swamped at this time. So I promise to start posting again as soon as I have a minute to breathe!

Add another Dropkick to the list

So we just got our tickets to another Dropkick Murphy's show. Yet again at the House of Blues in Chicago. New venue for the Dropkicks as I haven't ever seen them here. It is one of my favorite venues to see a live show. It's a great line up...Dropkicks, Sick of it All and the Aggrolites. So I was trying to remember the times I have seen the Dropkicks and I thought I had seen them 5 times already but once I did some checking it was actually 4.
July 2005 Warped Tour Chicago
October 2005 Rave Milwaukee opened with Gang Green, Dark Buster and Lost City Angels
November 2005 Vic Chicago opened with Big D and The Kids Table
March 2006 Mississippi Nights St. Louis opened w/ Sick of it All, Horrorpops and The Tossers

So now it's a great line up because you get to enjoy The Aggrolites (SKA) with Sick of it All (Old School Hard Core Punk) and the Dropkicks (Irish Punk).

The downfall of course is the fact that I will be in the far back since I will be about 8 months pregnant! I wouldn't be suprised if hank came out yelling OIW!

I did think about something the other day...I hear bout people who put earphones on the pregnant belly and play Mozart and other soothing classical like music...and then there's me. I sit at insanely loud rock concerts. So if my son comes out and he looks like he's been the the mosh already I guess I can only blame myself.

I guess I need to get him the t-shirt that says "My Mom Rocks!"

The Boys are Back in Town!

Well not literally but y'know I was amped up last year when Jody Davis signed on as Manager of our single A Peoria Chiefs. He did a great job and it gave us (As season Ticket holders) an amazing ability to be close to an American legend! Having seats on the 3rd base side it was awesome because Jody always worked as 3rd base coach. He did an awesome job which is why he was promoted up to Florida. Sad as it is to lose Jody Davis to a higher league...I was FLOORED of course to learn that Ryne (HOF) Sanberg was coming in to take over the Newly opened managers position! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Jim and I and friends were lucky enough to be at the game LAST August when they retired his number at Wrigley Field. Front and center in the Bleachers...What an amazing day at Wrigley. So of course my season tickets are renewed for this year...my hope is Ryne decides to work 3rd base like Jody. Oh... these are the reasons I can make it through the winter. Only 3 months to Spring training and 4 months to Opening Day.
Obviously I didn't quite plan this pregnancy just right as I won't be able to go to opening day. I am however still taking the day off work and watching the game on TV. I'll wait out my time by watching the Bears squeak out some wins and by the grace of god try to make it to the Superbowl. If our defense keeps getting hurt our offense is going to HAVE to start scoring more points to win. Hopefully Rex can step up his play. Monday night here we come...Bring on the Rams!

Crazy Daze!

The snow a cometh...

So it looks like we all survived ..."The Storm of 2006"!
I think most people are shoveled...plowed...scrapped out of their abodes!
So I of course have to add my stories form the snow out we all experiences here in the lovely town of Peoria.
First--- I was utterly surprised that the weather people were actually right for once and we DID get all the snow they had called for!

Second---I did find it humorous that so much was prematurely cancelled...although it did all need to get cancelled...I find it interesting that just the thought that we might get bad weather sends some into a freakfest frenzy.

Okay so my stepson comes home from his kickboxing classes and he is talking about the possibility of a snow day on Friday and I'm telling him...you should just plan on being at school tomorrow as you are in district 150 and they NEVER have snow days. My husband who is a RHS graduate can live to tell as when he was in school his superintendent lived in Florida. Great place to be when deciding if it is safe for students to be in school! Well low and behold as I awoke at 5 in the morning and realized my husband wasn't home from work yet from Downtown. I call his cell and he is running down our street as it was easier to run through the drifts than try to walk. His car was stuck on main street in front of the 4play complex. His friend Matt gave him a ride home but couldn't turn down our street off of Knoxville so Jim jumped out and started down the 4 blocks to home. Stopping briefly to help a couple who attempted to drive to work and were stuck so he got them back into they spot in front of their house. So he continues on down and decides to go to our house we moved out of and get our snow shovel and gloves and finally shows up at our house. Since I am now awake I turn on the local news and see amazingly that Shawn doesn't have school. So I go down to his room and give him the good news.

The day of shoveling began at about 11 am . Jim took a bit of a nap since he was working all night and He and Shawn began the great digout! I unfortunately couldn't help since I am pregnant. I did however have to miss 2 doctors appointments and so stayed in and baked cookies and put up all of my Christmas decorations...I felt very Martha Stewart like...without the orange jumpsuit and shackles but y'know what I mean. Don't worry I had some sweet Rockin' music on at the time!
Okay so enough of my boring stories of the BLIZZARD that hit Peoria!
I will jot later about my friend Tracy's experience driving for the first time in horrid weather conditions. (She has lived her whole like in AZ and this is her first winter in IL)
Also I will tell about our neighbor...his garage collapsed after the weight of the snow on his roof!

Wednesday night Dull Drums!

Okay so I don't know if all of you all know but Wednesday Night before Thanksgiving is supposed to be the biggest bar night in the year. Well, I was all excited to go out...You don't have to get up early on Thurs. and you get to see tons of people in from out of town...I was generally excited. So after work I go home and take a nap...I know this way I can stay out later...with the alien growing inside of me I tend to want to go to be at 8:30 pm. (I know it's not very rock star!!!) I get up from my nap and get all cutesied up and off I go to meet friends and Recovery Room to start. Very good crowd at RR...chatted...talked...off to Johnny Vig's. Let me just say I am not a fan of this bar but we had to make a pit stop to meet my friends husband and boyfriend. Just to clarify those were 2 separate friends! 1st of all it was packed...Rachel's Hippo was playing(Great Band for covers) but it was $3 to get in...WHATEVER...then I order a fruit juice and club soda since I am unable to enjoy the adult beverage and they charges me $3.50 for this little dinky glass. More reasons for me to dislike this bar. Thankfully we leave and head on downtown. 1st stop Sullivan's. We sat at the bar and had a drink. Only about 15 or so people in this bar. BTW They only charged me $1 for my drink mix and it was in a large glass. So we go to 4 play next as a friend sent a text that he was there. We pay our $7 cover and low and behold no one is there. I would say in the whole 4 bars there might of been 100 people. To add to it our friend who was supposed to be there was already gone. So we think "Well maybe we should try ICONS down at InPlay. Let me just tell you this placed SUCKED!! There was actually a person break dancing on the dance floor. It's kinda crazy but the look of it reminded me of a teen dance club we had in Peoria when I was a teen called Stage 2. Not when it was by Landmark but when it was off of Willow Knolls. (It was called Confetti's at one time also) We didn't stay to long and finally decided to go to Sully's. Man this bar is under new ownership but it doesn't change. Oh except for the cover charge. They used to have a sign up that said..."You can always party for free at Sully's" Not anymore. This also brought back fine memories of being not so legal and coming up with every imaginable scenario for getting in this bar. Well we did hang at the bar and enjoyed the night but it was fairly un eventful.

So my question is...
Where does everyone my age hang out now?
I don't think it's downtown...I felt very old.
Is it Up town... say at Bar Louie?
Which you can just keep because I have yet to go there and not have horrible service and waited forever for my food and or drink. It's just not my place. To much "Keeping up with the Jones!" going on for my liking.
I should of just stayed tried and true and gone to my neighborhood stomps...Whitey's...Sports Page...and Castle's Patio Inn.
With my age I should know better.

The Move is ON!

Okay so we are getting ready to move houses starting tomorrow. We hope to then be done by the weekend after Thanksgiving. It isn't the best time to move but I think this whole year could be summed up as "The Year I had No Control Over!"
Oh BTW We found out we are having a BOY! We already have names because they are after our grandfathers. So Henry Ward it is. I do have some friends who are insisting that I am naming him after Henry Rollins...which in my book isn't a bad role model but if I actually went with the infatuation thing the child's name would look something like " Gavin Hugh Mike Henry Jake Colin Blah Blah..." I think you get the picture. (For Reference if you haven't read many posts...Gavin DeGraw...Hugh Jackman...Mike Ness...Henry Rollins...Jake Gyllenhal...Colin Ferrell)
